Menyikapi aksi demonstrasi umat Islam pada Jumat,  4 November lalu, Pimpinan Pusat Muhammadiyah menyampaikan apresiasi yang tinggi. Sebab aksi demonstrasi terbesar setelah reformasi tersebut bisa berlangsung damai, demokratis, tertib dan bermartabat. Pasca aksi demonstrasi tersebut, PP Muhammadiyah berharap semua pihak menciptakan suasana damai serta lebih fokus mengawal kasus dugaan penistaan agama ini. Agar penyelesaian kasus betul-betul sesuai rasa keadilan dan aspirasi umat Islam.

Melalui surat yang ditandatangai langsung oleh ketua umum Haedar Nashir dan sekretaris umum Abdul Mu’ti, Muhammadiyah mengingatkan bahwa bangsa Indonesia merupakan bangsa yang religious dan berkebudayaan luhur.  Karena itu, semua pejabat public di seluruh tingkatan menunjukkan keteladanan dan jiwa kenegaraan
